Thomas Zilm (pictured) has joined Moray & Agnew in Melbourne. Most recently, he served as a partner at Sydney-based practice Vincent Young, and prior to that, he was a partner at fellow BigLaw firm Madison Marcus.

He has, Moray & Agnew said in a statement, acted for prominent domestic and international clients, providing expert advice in relation to all aspects of property law across multiple jurisdictions, and his expertise includes large-scale land acquisitions and disposals, petroleum franchising, major and institutional leasing, shopping centre acquisition, disposal and leasing, hotel acquisition, disposal and management, childcare centre acquisition, disposal and management, off-the-plan sales, strata management, greenfield development, due diligence, and taxation.

The news follows the firm’s promotion of 26 lawyers, including five to partner in early July, the addition of a new corporate and commercial partner from rival BigLaw firm Mills Oakley in June, as well as the promotion of two lawyers to partner and two to senior associate back in December.

Moray & Agnew Melbourne managing partner Bill Papastergiadis said: “Thomas is a bright lawyer who will bring significant drive, energy, and enthusiasm to our firm.

“Thomas is keen to help us expand Moray & Agnew’s property practice, which already is recognised by leading publications as one of Australia’s leading property teams. The addition of Thomas strengthens our full-service property practice.”

Zilm said: “I am delighted to be joining the Moray & Agnew team as a partner, managing major property transactions across the country.

“Whilst I will be based predominantly out of our Melbourne office, I will still be spending regular time in our Sydney, Brisbane, and Canberra offices to service our clients across all jurisdictions. Looking forward to working with my clients, old and new, from this brilliant national platform.”
