Sparke Helmore promotes 37, including 5 partners
National law firm Sparke Helmore has promoted five to the partnership, as well as 32 others to senior positions.
Sparke Helmore has elevated five to its growing partnership ranks, as well as 17 special counsel and 15 senior associates.
Commenting on the promotions, Sparke Helmore national managing partner Andrew White said he was “proud to see the appointment of Aimee, Nell, Carly, Jon, and Calvin to our growing partnership”.
“They are all exceptionally talented lawyers, recognised as leaders in their respective areas of law. Their promotion is a testament to the hard work they have put in to reach this career milestone and to the wealth of talent within our firm,” he said.
The news follows a number of lateral partner hires, including Simon Lewis and Alice Chen within the firm’s projects and government commercial practice group in May this year, the firm’s taking of a team of five lawyers, including partner Janette McLennan from Clyde & Co that same month, the hiring of Sheldon Garcia, formerly a partner at BigLaw rival HWL Ebsworth, as a new partner in the group in mid-April, the addition of three, including partner Marie-Clare Elder, in February, as well as partner Scott Puxty rejoining the firm in November last year, and its addition of a partner from Holding Redlich for its Brisbane office back in July.
“I am excited that seven lateral partners have recently joined us, allowing us to expand and enhance our services,” White said.
“We place a great deal of importance on cultural fit when we look to bring talent into the firm. Kylie Wilson, Scott Puxty, Marie-Clare Elder, Sheldon Garcia, Simon Lewis, Alice Chen, and Janette McLennan each bring outstanding qualities that not only strengthen our firm but also align with our values.”
In addition, the following have been promoted to special counsel at the firm: Alexandra Kuczerawy, Jaimee Zeidan, Vanessa Hubel, Antonia Vo, Daphne Jones-Bolla, Victoria Wilkinson, Alinta Briggs, Hannah Alcaro, Katie Gould, Luke Woodward, Matthew Armstrong, Samantha Galeano, Sasha Vleeshouwer, Stephanie Nevin, Alexandra Woodland, Max Calligeros, and Ben Keenan.
Finally, the new senior associates at the firm are Margaret Fox, Pooja Kumar, Vahini Naidoo, Aaron Taverniti, Georgie Ellis, Madeleine Kelly, Matthew Sheedy, Jason Liu, Alexander Colagiuri, Rebecca McMahon, Sidney Landis, Chelsea Rice, Erica Filby, Rhys Bradley-Roberts, and Kathryn Lieschke.
