HopgoodGanim Lawyers names 5 new partners, promotes further 25 staff
Independent law firm HopgoodGanim Lawyers has added five to the partnership and elevated a further 25 professionals.
In a move to strengthen leadership across key strategic practice areas, HopgoodGanim has announced four internal partner promotions and a lateral partner hire.
This comes after the addition of a disputes partner in April this year, following the firm’s hiring of a special counsel and two senior associates in February, the appointment of an energy and resources partner in December, and the naming of a new head of risk and compliance in November.
Of the internal partner promotions, Kayla Causer specialises in front-end and back-end construction advice, with significant experience in resolving highly technical industry-specific issues.
Luke Dawson specialises in public mergers and acquisitions, with expertise in company takeovers, schemes of arrangement, proceedings in the Takeovers Panel and the takeover defence.
Robyn Lamb is a planning and environment lawyer with expertise in development applications, approvals and appeals, infrastructure charging, and environmental issues.
Finally, partner Steven Hunwicks is head of HopgoodGanim’s cyber security practice and has extensive experience in commercial and legal roles.
In addition, lateral partner hire Ryan Chorley joins from Jackson McDonald and brings extensive experience in commercial property, leasing, and agribusiness. He specialises in commercial and mixed-use development projects, as well as the acquisition and disposal of shopping centres, office buildings and farming properties.
Commenting on the latest leadership promotions, managing partner Luke Mountford said these promotions reflect “continued growth in Brisbane and Perth across key priority markets”.
“We are delighted to welcome Ryan and our newly promoted colleagues to the partnership and senior roles across the firm. Their expertise and dedication will further strengthen our ability to meet the evolving needs of our clients and continue our next phase of growth,” he said.
In addition, Alison Cooper, Andrew Clements, Damon Hatchett, Jess Owen, Krystal Bellamy and Sarah Judge have been promoted to special counsel at the firm.
The newest HopgoodGanim senior associates are Emily Ownsworth, Isabella Windsor, James Lord, Judy Zhu, Rebecca Rutland and Tom McCourt.
The new associates are Chiara Falzon, Donna Do, Francesca Da Silva, Georgia Mackenzie, Hamish Mulcahy, Josie Tait, Lucy Coogan, Phoebe Kenafake, Ryan Stimson, Sophie Maitland and Yehanka Ranasinghe.
Lastly, within the HopgoodGanim legal operations team, Jess Looney has been elevated to senior business analyst, and Erin Doyle has been promoted to marketing and communications adviser.
