Anna Shaw (pictured) has been promoted to principal at Hunt & Hunt, a national law firm with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, North Ryde, Griffith, Brisbane, Perth, and Darwin.

She is, the firm said in a statement, a compulsory acquisition lawyer and a key member of its property disputes and compulsory acquisitions team, which advises clients on land acquisition, compensation, valuation, and planning matters.

Shaw joined the firm in 2015 as a compulsory acquisitions graduate and since then has “developed a reputation for excellence, client care, and leadership within the firm and the industry”, Hunt & Hunt said.

Speaking about the promotion, Hunt & Hunt managing principal Tony Raunic said: “Anna has been with Hunt & Hunt Lawyers for the better part of a decade, and we are proud of her growth.

“She is a talented and dedicated lawyer who always delivers outstanding results for her clients and supports her colleagues. She has also been instrumental in developing our compulsory acquisitions practice, widely regarded as one of the leading practices in Victoria.

“As a principal, Anna will continue to provide high-quality legal services to her clients, as well as mentor and inspire the next generation of lawyers in our firm. We are delighted to welcome her to the partnership and look forward to her ongoing success.”

The firm’s property disputes and compulsory acquisitions team leader, Anton Dunhill, said: “Over the course of many years, Anna has been integral to our team’s ethos of excellence and client care.

“Her growth potential was always anticipated in light of her capabilities and her efforts with those around her. As a principal, Anna can continue her passion for helping those navigating compulsory acquisitions while broadening her positive impact on our team and our firm.”

Shaw said: “I am thrilled to be joining the partnership at Hunt & Hunt Lawyers.

“When I joined the firm nine years ago, the compulsory acquisitions practice was growing. I am so proud of the prominent practice we are now, the dedicated team members we have fostered, and the large number of Victorians affected by acquisitions that we have been able to assist over this time.

“I am acutely aware of how lucky I am to love what I do. Navigating this unusual area of law demands (beyond the obvious) creativity and compassion for each client’s unique circumstances; all these years in and still no two days are alike.

“It is with much enthusiasm and excitement that I now join the leadership team at the firm that has both supported and inspired me over the course of my legal career.”
