Hall & Wilcox reveals record 60 senior promotions, including 7 female partners

National law firm Hall & Wilcox has promoted 60 senior staff and seven new partners – all female – successfully achieving its goal of 40 per cent female representation in the partnership.

In a new record for the firm, Hall & Wilcox has promoted seven partners, 17 special counsel and 27 senior associates, as well as made nine senior corporate services promotions.

The new promotions, effective 1 July mean that Hall & Wilcox will have achieved its target of minimum 40 per cent female representation in the partnership by 2025.

The new partners are Melinda Andrew (Newcastle), Erin Brown (Newcastle), Angie Gimisis (Perth), Seun Idowu (Sydney), Clare Kerley (Sydney), Tina Lung (Sydney) and Hannah Peddie (Brisbane).

 
 

These promotions bring the firm's employee count to approximately 1,150 people, including 145 partners, spread across eight offices.

Outgoing managing partner Tony Macvean, who finishes his 17-year term in the role on 30 June, said that the 60 promotions were the largest number the firm has ever had.

“Client service and experience is our highest priority. This is the largest number of promotions we’ve ever had,” he said.

“This is testament to our continued national growth, backed by our strong relationships with clients and the great experience we provide them.”

Chief executive partner elect Graydon Dowd, who will step into his role on 1 July, said the promotions reflected the bright future for the firm.

“These appointments reflect the strength and growth of our national commercial and insurance practices, particularly in our growing markets,” he added.

“I congratulate our new partners, all of whom are very impressive practitioners who live the firm’s values.”

The new special counsel at the firm are: Ben Clarke, Bianca McCormack, Candice Carrasco, Courtney Daunt, Ella Simmons, Hilary Lee, Holly Turner, Laura D'Amico, Megan Cramp, Melissa Plavsic, Mona Sukkar, Nhu-Thuy Dinh, Nicholas Simpson, Peta Rapson, Rachel Morgan, Stacey Marino and Todd Bromwich.

The new senior associates at the firm are: Anna Prentice, Bonnie Wynne, Bradley White, Bryanna Ross, Chalani Sundquist, Christopher Macmillan, Claire Bourke, Eleanor Hall, Gus Hu, Harvey Duckett, Holly Gretton, Jemima Whiteman, Jennifer Andrews, Jordon Lee, Katelyn Cant, Kirralee Pavy, Matthew Capannolo, Matt Dolan, Matthew Hafer, Michael Maconochie, Mikaela Bensley, Robert Porter, Sarah Wade, Sheldon Fu, Tammy Tang, Tess Ramadge and Tia Cooper.

In addition, the following senior corporate services promotions have been made: Shan Ganeshan (IT infrastructure manager), Rob Hum (facilities manager), Scott Juza (head of workspace), Claire Kliendienst (senior people and culture advisor), Jacob Lewis (senior events advisor), Grace Medcraft (senior digital marketing advisor), Jana Rehlecka (senior bids and pursuits advisor), Jodi Steer (office manager, Adelaide) and Maggi Stevens (senior technology trainer).

These promotions are in addition to the almost 30 lateral partners and senior lawyers appointed over the past year, including 30 from Brisbane-based boutique specialist investment funds firm McMahon Clarke joining Hall & Wilcox in November last year.
