Vanessa Gulesserian, Trevor Ho, and Susannah Maclaren (all pictured) are the newest partners in Colin Biggers & Paisley’s insurance group, following the significant growth of its insurance practice in 2023, most recently reported here.

The firm has also elevated Bianca Hellwege and Isabella Johnston to special counsel and Lauren Flint, Patrick Robertson-Smith, Justin Soh, Rosie Carnegie, Karell Schmitt-Virgo, and Sanaz Towhidi to senior associate.

All promotions are effective as of 1 July.

The news follows the firm’s hire of a senior associate from Clayton Utz as a special counsel in mid-December.

Speaking about the promotions, firm managing partner Nick Crennan said: “We are pleased to recognise our talent and continue to invest in the future success of our people and our clients with this round of promotions.

“Our commitment to providing a balanced working environment, welcoming culture and real client-facing opportunities for our people is resulting in talented lawyers choosing our firm to develop their careers.”

Lawyers Weekly will host its inaugural Partner Summit on Thursday, 20 June 2024, at The Star, Sydney, at which speakers will address the range of opportunities and challenges for partners and partner equivalents, provide tips on how they can better approach their practice and team management, and propel their businesses towards success.
