MinterEllison has named nine new partners, who work across eight different practice areas, in a promotion round the BigLaw firm said would strengthen its leadership and expertise.

Alex Skilling and Jarryd Gray (environment and planning), Caitlin Ible (workplace), Carolina Dorman (digital and data), Chris Hey (infrastructure and construction), David Barton (statutory compensation management), Dora Cosentino (insurance and corporate risk), Evan Goldman (dispute resolution), and Nicole Brown (capital solutions) are all set to join MinterEllison’s partnership.

The nine new partners, the firm said in a statement, have a “wealth of experience” and will “further enhance” MinterEllison’s ability to deliver “strategic and innovative solutions” to clients across a diverse range of industries, including energy and resources, financial services, real estate, infrastructure, health, and government.

“The appointments underscore the firm’s dedication to nurturing talent and its commitment to providing clients with exceptional expertise,” the firm said.

The promotions are effective as of 1 July.

The news follows the firm’s appointment of public law partner Sophie Lloyd from BigLaw rival HWL Ebsworth in mid-February.

Speaking about the new partners, MinterEllison chief executive and managing partner Virginia Briggs (pictured) said: “I’m delighted to welcome these talented lawyers to our partnership. Our new partners have outstanding legal minds and a deep understanding of our clients’ needs.”

“They embody adaptability and client-centricity, and I know they will bring new thinking and perspectives to the firm’s leadership, to our clients and the community.”

Lawyers Weekly will host its inaugural Partner Summit on Thursday, 20 June 2024, at The Star, Sydney, at which speakers will address the range of opportunities and challenges for partners and partner equivalents, provide tips on how they can better approach their practice and team management, and propel their businesses towards success.
