Rosalind Gilsenan and Natasha Sim (both pictured) have joined Turks’ partnership, bringing the firm’s total number of partners to 38.

The firm also has more than 250 staff across its offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Newcastle.

Gilsenan has joined the firm’s general insurance team from Carter Newell Lawyers, where she was a special counsel for two and a half years. She is, Turks said in a statement, an accomplished general insurance litigator, who has spent over 23 years specialising in property damage, liability, and personal injury litigation, as well as indemnity and other insurance disputes.

Sim has come across from Meerkin & Apel, where she was a senior associate for nearly a year, prior to which she was at Russell Kennedy for close to four years. She advises on all aspects of employment and industrial relations laws, including enterprise bargaining, enterprise agreement disputes, executive employment, and corporate governance issues, managing ill and injured workers, award classification, and post-employment restraints, Turks detailed.

Speaking about the hires, Turks chief executive Zoë Leonard said: “We are always on the lookout for excellent lawyers who share the firm’s values and commitment to clients, and so this is a great achievement for us in the continued growth of our Melbourne office.”

Sim said: “I’m very excited to be working with a firm that has such a strong reputation for producing excellent work, and which is committed to continuously bettering its client experience.”

“I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team and with others across the NSW and Queensland offices to grow our workplace relations practice!”

Gilsenan said: “Turks has seen considerable growth over the last few years, particularly in general insurance, and I am excited to be part of the firm’s future.”
