Maddocks promotes 4 to partner
National law firm Maddocks has elevated four lawyers in Sydney and Melbourne to its partnership, bringing the BigLaw player’s total number of partners to 92.
Maddocks has elevated Angela Barac (dispute resolution, Melbourne), Andrew McGlashan (construction and projects, Sydney), Dale McQualter (workplace health and safety, Melbourne), and Rahil Patel (M&A/corporate, Sydney) to its partnership.
The promotions, the firm proclaimed in a statement, reflect its “continued transformation and strong strategic focus” on key commercial and government clients across its Sydney and Melbourne teams.
The news follows the firm’s appointment of an IP special counsel from BigLaw rival Ashurst in late February, its nabbing of special counsel from King & Wood Mallesons and Reed Smith, as reported in late January, its revamping of its operational division in December, its addition of a Victorian state government solicitor as a new partner in August, and its promotion of 47 lawyers to more senior roles in June.
Speaking about the latest additions to the firm’s partnership, Maddocks chief executive David Newman said: “I congratulate each of our new partners on this milestone in their careers, and I look forward to the contribution they will make to the firm over the coming years.
“These promotions reflect the increased demand we are seeing from our private and public client base and recognition of the expertise in these key practice areas, delivering another strong year of growth.”
