Proximity appoints new national lead for consulting
National law firm Proximity has appointed Anthony Honeyman, who has over 20 years of experience in management consulting, as its new national lead for consulting.
Proximity – the recipient of Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards for Government Team of the Year in 2022 – has appointed Anthony Honeyman, a longstanding member of the Proximity advisory board, as its new national lead for consulting.
He possesses specialised expertise in sectors such as health, human services, and social policy. However, his extensive experience extends across various domains, including defence, education, finance, employment and veterans’ affairs.
Mr Honeyman attended the University of Canberra and the Australian National University, and he graduated with a bachelor of arts (social science), a graduate diploma in public health, and an advanced diploma in project management, political science, economics, and public administration.
The Canberra-based firm highlighted Mr Honeyman’s extensive experience, noting that he “was previously chair, founding partner and managing director of Apis Consulting Group, part of Accenture, which he grew over a 14-year period to a successful large consulting firm of around 300 employees before it was acquired”.
Throughout the last decade, he has made substantial contributions to government initiatives across diverse sectors such as aged care, education, social services, health, and Indigenous affairs.
Proximity’s chief executive, Zoe Lynam, commented: “We’re excited to welcome Anthony to the national co-lead position in our consulting practice, working alongside Nicole Elliott.
“He is a true government specialist, an excellent addition to the team and will add great leadership value alongside Nicole. His industry experience in various senior executive roles across government makes him a valuable asset to our business,” said Ms Lynam.
“As a government-first provider of multidisciplinary services, we look forward to working with Anthony and maximising his wealth of expertise in government to continue supporting our clients to achieve their goals.”
In his new position, Mr Honeyman plans to utilise his expertise and leadership abilities to enhance and expand Proximity’s consultancy practice.
He stated: “I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and building capability in business strategy and development as well as program management, and [I] hope to continue building strong relationships with government, business, and industry leaders.
“I’ve spent most of my working life in the business of government, and I’m excited to bring this experience into Proximity, an exciting, government-focused, Australian-owned business, delivering great outcomes for government.”
