K&L Gates bolsters finance team
K&L Gates has expanded its finance practice in Sydney with the addition of a new partner, who joins from Norton Rose Fulbright.
Global law firm K&L Gates has appointed a new partner to its global finance practice: Claudine Salameh, who was most recently the head of the Australian bank industry group at Norton Rose Fulbright.
She has over two decades of experience as a banking and insolvency litigator and a financial services regulatory lawyer and acts for major financial institutions in matters involving customer disputes and litigation, fraud, regulatory and compliance issues, regulatory investigations, inquiries and enforcement matters, security enforcement, and insolvency litigation.
Ms Salameh also has deep-seated experience in the conduct of review and remediation programs and has aided the regulator on the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s (ASIC) regulatory guide on review and remediation programs. This extensive experience, K&L Gates’ Australia regional managing partner Jason Opperman said, would be of great value to the firm.
“Claudine is a highly respected financial services and regulatory and banking litigation lawyer with a deep knowledge of the financial services sector,” he said.
“Claudine is well known as a fiercely client-focused strategic thinker and will be a tremendous asset to both our team and our clients. We are delighted she has chosen to join our firm and know she will be an outstanding success.”
