Seyfarth names new Melbourne-based partner in global cohort of 19
Global law firm Seyfarth Shaw LLP has elevated 19 lawyers to its partnership across 12 of its offices worldwide, including an employment lawyer in its Melbourne office.
Melbourne-based employment lawyer Marissa Dreher has been promoted from counsel to partner at Seyfarth Shaw alongside 18 other lawyers across 12 offices and eight practice areas for the global law firm.
Prior to joining Seyfarth in late 2020, Ms Dreher was the director of Dreher Legal for almost seven years and a senior associate at Herbert Smith Freehills.
The news follows the firm’s elevation of two Australian lawyers to its global partnership in January of last year and its achievement of a 50:50 gender split in its partnership in Australia in February.
Darren Perry, the Australian managing partner of Seyfarth, said: “Marissa is an outstanding lawyer who is an integral part of the success of Seyfarth’s workplace health and safety law team in Australia, and her promotion to partner recognises her standing with clients."
“Since the establishment of Seyfarth’s workplace health and safety practice in 2015, the team’s depth of expertise has continued to grow in response to this increasingly complex area of law," he noted.
And speaking about the new global cohort of partners, Seyfarth chair and managing partner Lorie Almon said: “This impressive group of lawyers highlights our strength across offices, departments and countries.
“Our new partners have proven their ability to perform at the highest level, delivering excellence through their work for our clients and the firm. We are excited to have them join our partnership.”
Seyfarth Shaw has over 900 lawyers in 18 offices worldwide.
