Amy Liu (pictured) has joined Colin Biggers & Paisley as a special counsel, having come over from Clayton Utz, where she served for just under two years.

Prior to this, she worked at HWL Ebsworth.

She specialises in corporate and commercial and tax law and has, Colin Biggers & Paisley said in a statement, extensive corporate and commercial experience extending to mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructures, private equity, and cross-border financing.

The news follows a year of significant growth for the national firm in its insurance practice, as most recently reported by Lawyers Weekly here.

Speaking about the latest hire, firm corporate and commercial practice leader Jon Meadmore said: “We are delighted to have Amy join our team, and her appointment highlights our commitment to attracting exceptional talent.

“Amy’s extensive experience and skill in tax and corporate transactions will be instrumental in strengthening our practice’s capabilities to ensure we are at the forefront of meeting our clients’ individual needs.

“I look forward to supporting and working with Amy as we continue to provide exceptional legal services to our clients.”

Ms Liu added: “I am excited to join Colin Biggers & Paisley’s corporate and commercial team and be able to contribute my expertise [in] corporate and commercial law and tax.

“I look forward to collaborating with the talented team here to deliver exceptional solutions for our clients’ diverse needs.”
