National law firm Holding Redlich has moved to bolster its government ranks in Canberra with the appointment of a new partner.
Sarah Byrne (pictured) has joined Holding Redlich as a partner, having come across from lawyerbank, where she was a special counsel.
She brings, Holding Redlich said in a statement, a background in government spanning 30 years with extensive experience, including specialisation in all facets of government and administrative law, including statutory interpretation, administrative appeals, legislation development, and making robust decisions under legislation.
The news follows the firm’s promotion of 41 lawyers to more senior roles, including two to partner, in late June and its addition of a special counsel from MinterEllison as a new partner in November.
Holding Redlich national managing partner Troy Lewis said: “With a remarkable 30-year career working in, and for, government, Sarah is a welcome and valued addition to our Canberra office, our Commonwealth government team, and the firm as a whole.
“Her expertise and experience align seamlessly with the existing skill sets of Canberra partners Elizabeth Carroll and Andrew Klein, and we look forward to the wealth of experience and knowledge she brings to our firm,” he said.
Ms Byrne added: “I’m excited to be working with the great team at Holding Redlich, and I’m looking forward to building even further on our already strong capacity to support our government clients.
“There is significant appetite in government right now for doing things differently and better, and Holding Redlich has [an] innovative and collaborative culture that can really lean into those opportunities, for everyone’s benefit.”
