Maddocks revamps operational division
Maddocks has created a new function within its newly revamped “operational excellence” division, which will help the firm modernise, improve knowledge management and invest in new technologies.
The new function will draw together Maddocks’ existing legal operations, knowledge and research services teams under one umbrella and will work collaboratively across the firm’s existing service functions.
“I am excited to lead this new function for Maddocks. It is a pleasure to be at a firm where the leadership is so focused on improving our offerings to clients,” he said.
The new structure represents a “significant investment” from Maddocks, which plans to strengthen its focus on knowledge capture and sharing processes.
“As we know, client in-house teams are trying to do more with less. Knowledge and legal operations are now recognised as key contributors to achieving in-house goals but can be expensive to set up,” Mr Grant told Lawyers Weekly.
“By bringing together our experts in this area, we are seeking to support a greater number of our clients, particularly those without in-house capability in this area.”
Maddocks chief executive David Newman said the new structure and leadership is a testament to the firm’s commitment to continually improve the way that it works with clients – and added that the firm would be looking to recruit for the new function moving forward.
“We anticipate recruiting in the future as the function evolves and grows as we continue our investment in technology and process improvements to assist our lawyers better service our clients,” he said.
“Operational excellence is a major part of the transformation of Maddocks as a modern law firm. Our renewed focus on leveraging modern technologies and harnessing our knowledge capability will ensure our lawyers have the right tools and resources they need to provide a client experience that is exceptional.”
