Special counsel Shehan Gunatunga, senior associate Zaid Mohammed. and solicitor Lily Connell have all joined Colin Biggers & Paisley and will be part of the firm’s financial lines practice.

Mr Gunatunga will be primarily advising on coverage and defence of professional indemnity and construction risk claims, the firm detailed in a statement, while Mr Mohammed will be advising clients across EPL and professional indemnity claim, and Ms Connell will be advising on EPL and management liability claims.

The trio will be based in the firm’s Melbourne office.

The news follows Colin Biggers & Paisley’s appointment of five professionals for its Brisbane-based insurance team in late August and a senior associate in early June.

The news also follows the firm’s promotion of 12 lawyers to senior associate and one to partner in late June.

Speaking about the appointments, Cathryn Prowse – the firm’s joint insurance practice leader – said: “I am absolutely delighted to welcome Shehan, Zaid and Lily to Colin Biggers & Paisley.

“Their appointments are a great addition to our team and support our strategy of attracting and retaining solicitors of the highest calibre.

“Shehan, Zaid and Lily bring diverse experience that will only enhance our ability to successfully provide commercial solutions for our clients.”
