LOD celebrates years of success on 15th anniversary
Alternative legal services provider LOD has celebrated its 15th anniversary by reflecting on its achievements, including service expansion to new clients, the creation of new service lines, and its ability to adapt to the ever-evolving needs of the legal profession.
After emerging into the Australian legal profession 15 years ago, LOD said it created an “entirely new category” of practitioners and redefined how they work. From then on, LOD set new standards to keep pace with the adaption of lawyers and the profession.
“Over the years, we’ve pioneered alternative legal services, challenged the standard, and created shared success,” Mr Cowling told Lawyers Weekly.
“We’ve not only kept pace with the ever-changing legal landscape but have also proactively adapted to meet the evolving needs of our clients and the industry.”
LOD said its achievements can be attributed to its robust client relationships, “out-of-the-box” solutions, and a dedicated team of lawyers who go “above and beyond”. This has led to a culture that “truly values its people” and the success of legal professionals.
Its evolution has involved bringing in new offerings, such as general counsel, paralegals, managed teams, legal and compliance, and legal technology support. With the offerings and its culture, lawyers have sought out LOD’s “more balanced and fulfilling work/life dynamic”.
“We’ve provided legal professionals with the opportunity to pursue their passions while advancing their careers,” Mr Cowling said.
“We’ve seen great success expanding our business into new territories (across the globe) and offering more service lines. We feel incredibly proud to continue making a real difference.”
Looking ahead, LOD said it remains committed to “driving positive change” across the profession and will continue to push boundaries and embrace new opportunities as the law continues to evolve.
One of its more major investments in this future is its decision to become part of the Consilio group of companies, an investment it said will accelerate LOD’s plan to “lead and shape the industry”.
Mr Cowling said it is a “significant leap” for the company that will “bring in valuable investment, expanding our capabilities and increasing our global footprint”.
The acquisition will also give its legal professionals more choice of assignments from a “broader range of top clients across the world”.
“Our mission has always been to transform the legal industry and Consilio’s acquisition adds investment so we can do this better and faster,” Mr Cowling said.
