Lander & Rogers appoints partner from PwC
National law firm Lander & Rogers has moved to strengthen its renewable energy and infrastructure with the appointment of a director from PwC Australia as its newest partner.
Landers has appointed Hoda Naghdy (pictured) a partner, in the face of demand for strategic legal advice on energy transition as Australia undergoes a significant renewable energy transformation.
The appointment, Landers said in a statement, adds depth of strategic legal and commercial expertise for the benefit of its infrastructure clients as the sector adjusts to the challenges and opportunities of developing and funding Australia’s renewable energy projects.
The news follows the firm’s promotion of 35 lawyers to more senior roles in early June and its addition of a finance partner from Gilbert + Tobin in late July.
Ms Naghdy said: “Australia is on the cusp of a once-in-a-lifetime energy transition.
“It’s an incredibly exciting time to be advising clients in this space, and I look forward to bringing my expertise in structuring, procurement and delivery of major energy projects to Lander & Rogers’ clients and networks.”
Landers construction partner Tim McDonald added: “Demand for strategic legal and commercial expertise to support the development of transmission infrastructure, generation capability including wind and solar energy, and storage and firming infrastructure is expected to surge over the next two decades.
“With a long track record of landmark renewable energy projects and large global transactions, Hoda will be a real asset to our team and our clients.”
And firm practice group leader for real estate and projects John Wells said: “The infrastructure sector has a vital role to play in Australia’s shift to renewable energy.
“Hoda’s extensive project development experience and deep sector knowledge will enhance Lander & Rogers’ ability to meet growing client needs in this space, and I’m delighted to welcome her to Lander & Rogers.”
