Individual finalists include academics, barristers, dealmakers, general counsel, senior associates, sole practitioners, and the rising stars of tomorrow.

Group finalists include Dispute Resolution and/or Litigation Team of the Year, Employer of Choice, in-house teams, innovators, pro bono programs, as well as wellness initiatives.

The highest-scoring individual or group winner will become the recipient of the 2023 Excellence Award.

Now in its 23rd year, the Australian Law Awards is an unparalleled program that provides national recognition to legal professionals and their firms for their dedication to the legal sector.

The awards ceremony is the pinnacle event for championing talent in the Australian legal industry and shining a spotlight on those who work tirelessly to progress in their careers while ensuring that their industry thrives.

Among those who are recognised are partners, general counsel, academics, barristers, legal teams, and rising stars.

Speaking ahead of the awards, Lawyers Weekly editor Jerome Doraisamy said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have seen so many submissions this year — the most an awards program hosted by Lawyers Weekly has ever received.

“The volume of high-quality submissions is demonstrative of the calibre of work being undertaken by legal professionals, of all stripes, up and down the country.

“Congratulations to all of our worthy finalists, and we look forward to celebrating with you on the night!”

Dye & Durham Australian managing director Dennis Barnhart added: “We’re thrilled to become the principal partner of the Australian Law Awards and to have the opportunity to help celebrate and support Australia’s vibrant legal community.”
