Gilchrist Connell promotes financial lines special counsel to principal
National law firm Gilchrist Connell has elevated a special counsel in its financial lines team to principal, bringing the firm’s partnership to a 40-60 split between men and women.
Tiarn Pauletto (pictured) has been elevated to principal at Gilchrist Connell, bringing her “robust background in acting for insurers, underwriting agencies, and corporate entities across Australia” to the firm’s leadership.

She advises clients on claims and issues across financial lines, subrogated recoveries, property and commercial disputes, the firm said in a statement, noting that the “strength of Tiarn’s relationships with her clients and within the insurance industry sets her apart”.
With Ms Pauletto’s promotion, the firm’s partnership split will be 40 per cent female and 60 per cent male.
“Our flexible work practices continue to support equal participation in the workforce across all levels, with 61 per cent of fee earners identifying as female and 39 per cent male. The gender split at firm level is 73 per cent female to 27 per cent male,” the firm detailed.
Speaking about the promotion, Gilchrist Connell managing principal Richard Wood said: “This promotion is well deserved and a reflection of Tiarn’s technical skills, leadership qualities and her solid client relationships.”
Firm principal Alex Haslam added: “We are incredibly proud of Tiarn’s accomplishments and delighted to promote her to principal. Ms Pauletto’s promotion is effective as of 1 July.
