JWS appoints special counsel for tax team
National law firm Johnson Winter Slattery continues to add to its senior ranks, this time with the hiring of a senior tax specialist as a special counsel in its Melbourne office.
Don Spirason (pictured) has joined JWS, bringing over two decades of experience, including more than 10 years at BHP and five years at Foster’s Group.
The news follows the promotion of 18 to more senior roles at JWS, reported by Lawyers Weekly in early June.
It also follows the hiring of Professor Pamela Hanrahan as a consultant in May and the addition of Eleanor Kwak as a special counsel from Corrs in March.
Speaking about the firm’s newest special counsel, JWS managing partner Jeremy Davis said: “Don brings excellent commercial and technical skills to the firm.
“We have been steadily growing our tax practice, and Don’s experience will add significant value to our corporate clients.”
Mr Spirason added: “I am looking forward to working alongside JWS’ leading tax team to provide comprehensive tax solutions to our clients.”
