International law firm Clifford Chance has appointed an antitrust and competition partner from fellow BigLaw firm Clayton Utz for its Sydney office.
Elizabeth Richmond (pictured) has joined Clifford Chance as a partner, bringing over 15 years of experience in antitrust and competition law.
Speaking about the firm’s newest partner, Clifford Chance Australian managing partner Richard Gordon said: “We are thrilled to welcome Elizabeth to the team. Her unique experience advising on some of Australia’s most significant antitrust and competition issues will benefit our clients in Australia.
“In particular, she will be an incredible asset to our corporate practice, which has rapidly expanded over the last few years and now numbers seven partners focusing on advising financial investor clients on an array of corporate transactions.”
The firm’s global co-head of antitrust, Marc Besen, added: “Australia is a key jurisdiction shaping antitrust and competition developments elsewhere in the world. Elizabeth will bring in-depth market expertise to our growing international practice, which has built an exceptional reputation providing seamless antitrust advice across a range of areas, including global merger control, antitrust investigations and litigation, as well as foreign investment.”
And Ms Richmond said: “I am delighted to join Clifford Chance in Australia and the global antitrust practice, which is so well-regarded in the market.
“I look forward to being a part of a truly global team that provides joined-up advice to solve our clients’ most complex antitrust and competition challenges all around the world.”
