Allens sells company secretarial business to Link Group
After providing external administration and corporate secretarial work to clients for over 40 years, Allens’ company secretarial business has been acquired by corporate administration and legal services provider Company Matters, the corporate markets division of Link Group.
As part of the acquisition, Company Matters will now provide ongoing company secretarial services to Allens in Australia — and staff from the firm’s secretarial company will transfer over to Link Group.
The acquisition, Link noted in a market announcement, is expected to deliver significant new growth opportunities across Link Group’s market-leading governance advisory offering. It brings a significant client base to Link Group, including Fortune 500 and Global 500 companies and accelerates the group’s strategic objectives to grow its corporate markets’ capabilities and geographic footprint.
All permanent employees from Allens’ company secretarial business will transition to Link Group, marking a significant transformation for the Company Matters team as it expands its presence in Sydney and Melbourne.
Allens chief operating officer Matt Graham said that the acquisition would mean continued excellent service for firm staff and employees.
“Our aim is to ensure a continued excellent quality of service for Allens’ clients and broad development opportunities for our people,” he said.
“We’re confident our new arrangement with Company Matters will deliver on those objectives.”
Link Group corporate markets chief executive Paul Gardiner added that the acquisition was expected to deliver significant new growth opportunities across Link Group’s governance advisory offering.
“The acquisition of Allens’ company secretarial business in Australia provides a significant boost to our corporate governance offering. This is a valuable opportunity to enhance our company secretarial and corporate administration services, bringing exposure to new clients and sectors. It will expand our capabilities while growing our team in Sydney and further cementing our presence in Melbourne.
“Our ongoing agreement with Allens provides a unique opportunity to build long-term value with a leading Australian law firm as we service and create valued relationships with a new client base,” Mr Gardiner said.
