Moray & Agnew has revealed its July 2023 promotions round, with 14 lawyers, across five of the firm’s seven offices, being elevated to more senior roles.

These promotions, the firm said in a statement, “represent a range of geographies and legal areas in which our client needs continue to grow”.

Tracy Bennett, Daniel Coloe, Sarah Hammond, Julian Kenda, Stephanie Lee, Helene Tretheway and Joan Williams are the newest partners at the national firm.

Mr Kenda and Ms Lee are in the firm’s Sydney office, Mr Coloe and Ms Bennett are in Melbourne and Perth, respectively, and Ms Hammond, Ms Tretheway and Ms Williams all hail from the firm’s Newcastle office.

Its new special counsel are Daniel Le Huray, Donna Marsh, Lucy Munro and Kelly Poh, and the newest senior associates are Karina Ross, Timothy Skinner and Lilian Zhou.

The news follows the firm’s unveiling of 13 promoted professionals in December 2022, which included two to partner, nine to special counsel and three to senior associate.

It also comes after Corrs Chambers Westgarth’s naming of three new partners last week, Ashurst’s promotion of 13 Australians to its global partnership in mid-April, Herbert Smith Freehills’ naming of 10 new Australian partners and then seven further senior promotions (here and here), three new Australian partners at Allen & Overy (now Allen Overy Shearman) and two new partners in Australia at DLA Piper (here and here), and seven new special counsel in Clyde & Co’s Australian offices, announced in early May.

Speaking about the promotions, Moray & Agnew national managing partner Geoff Connellan said: “Congratulations to each of these lawyers on their well-deserved promotions.

“We acknowledge and thank them for their hard work for our clients and their ongoing contribution to our firm.”
