Spruson & Ferguson adds new principal in Melbourne

Spruson & Ferguson has bolstered its Melbourne practice with the addition of a new principal lawyer, who will join the firm in July 2023.

Joining the firm’s chemical and life sciences practice, principal Mark Roberts joins from IP firm Davies Collison Cave, where he was previously a partner for 22 years and a principal for six years. He has a total of over three decades of experience as a patent attorney and 16 years of experience as a guest lecturer in patent law at the University of Melbourne.

Mr Roberts specialises in organic and pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, biotechnology, nanotechnology, general chemistry, agribusiness and food technology, clean technology, and medical devices.

“I am delighted to be joining the team at Spruson & Ferguson,” he said.

“I am excited to join a firm of this calibre and to be part of the exceptional team in Melbourne.”
