JWS adds law professor as consultant
National law firm Johnson Winter Slattery has hired an internationally recognised corporate lawyer and academic as a consultant, who will look to enhance the firm’s strong corporate offering.
Professor Pamela Hanrahan (pictured) has joined JWS and will focus on corporate governance, collective investments regulation, and corporate disclosure.
She was also a regional commissioner for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and registrar of Community Housing for NSW.
Speaking about the hire, JWS managing partner Jeremy Davis said: “We are delighted that a leading Australian corporate lawyer and academic is joining the firm.”
“The current legal and regulatory framework for executives and directors is complex and evolving at a fast pace. Pamela’s knowledge, insights and experience will add great value to our clients.”
Dr Hanrahan added: “Policy and legislative change, rapid innovation, and greater scrutiny of company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance create significant opportunities for clients, but understanding the emerging risks involved is crucial.
“I look forward to bringing a broader perspective to these issues and working with the team at JWS.”
