Thomson Geer appoints Perth-based partner
National law firm Thomson Geer has added a corporate partner from a Hong Kong-based investment company, who will be based in the firm’s Perth office.
Thomson Geer has hired David Church as a partner in its Perth office, who joins from Hong Kong-based investment company Regent Pacific Group, where he was general counsel and head of merger and acquisition.
Mr Church has, the firm said in a statement, worked on domestic and international corporate transactions as well as major international equity offerings for corporates and investment banks, and he brings over two decades of experience in M&A and corporate finance in Australia, the UK, Europe and Asia with expertise across multiple sectors.
The news follows Thomson Geer’s addition of partner Nicholas Creed from Allens in early April and its taking of a team of eight from fellow BigLaw firm HopgoodGanim in mid-February.
Thomson Geer has nearly 150 partners and 600 professionals nationally, with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra.
Speaking about the appointment of Mr Church, Thomson Geer chief executive partner Adrian Tembel said: “We are excited to welcome David to our growing Perth office. His expertise deepens our ability to work on complex and challenging matters in Western Australia.”
Mr Church added: “I’m pleased to be returning to Perth and joining Thomson Geer and its highly regarded corporate team.
“The team are among the best in the business and have a quality reputation for delivering for clients. I’m looking forward to working closely with them.”
