Karen Fairbairn (pictured) is joining Keypoint, bringing with her more than three decades of experience, principally in banking and commercial law, with expert knowledge of the Personal Property Securities Act.

She was most recently self-employed, before which she was at Piper Alderman, FCW Lawyers, HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, Westpac, Middletons, Freehills, Henry Davis York, Atanaskovic Hartnell, and Mallesons Stephen Jaques.

Ms Fairbairn is also a member of the Banking and Financial Services Law Association and the Women Lawyers Association of NSW.

The news follows the hiring of three other consulting principals in the past month, covered by Lawyers Weekly here, here and here.

Speaking about the appointment of Ms Fairbairn, Keypoint chief executive Warren Kalinko said: “Karen is a highly regarded practitioner, and we are delighted to be welcoming her to our firm.

“We look forward to leveraging Karen’s vast expertise in the PPSA space, and to her collaboration with our wider commercial team.”

“We are so pleased to be able to offer a truly rewarding alternative for senior lawyers who are seeking the strengths of a full-service firm, together with real freedom and control,” Mr Kalinko concluded.

Ms Fairbairn added: “I am excited to join Keypoint and look forward to working closely with the professional team to add value to our clients’ businesses.”
