Keypoint welcomes new consulting principal in Brisbane

Emerging BigLaw player Keypoint Law has appointed another new consulting principal, who specialises in film, television and digital games.

Kate Hynes (pictured) offers, the firm said in a statement, “a wealth of sector knowledge and experience in media and entertainment to the firm, further bolstering Keypoint’s Brisbane-based operations and national service offering across 25 areas”.

She previously served as the head of legal and business affairs and was the group company secretary at award-winning film and television production company Hoodlum, as well as the chief legal officer at video game company Halfbrick Studios.

She has also worked at Kelly Hazell Quill and Norton Rose Fulbright and is currently the deputy chair of Trade and Investment Queensland.

Speaking about her appointment, Keypoint chief executive Warren Kalinko said: “Kate’s joining is a very exciting development for Keypoint.

“Her wealth of experience and years of involvement in the Australian, and global, media and entertainment industry is incredibly valuable, and we are delighted to have this added expertise to share with our clients.”

Ms Hynes: “I’ve watched the exceptional growth of Keypoint Law over a number of years, and I am very excited to now be a part of its bright future.”
