Cowell Clarke promotes 8 to associate director
Growing national practice Cowell Clarke, which recently made a significant boost to its Sydney ranks, has elevated eight senior counsel to associate director.
In May 2022, Cowell Clarke made eight new appointments, including four directors, all of whom joined from legal practice Australian Business Lawyers and Advisors (ABLA), a subsidiary of Business NSW.
The new associate directors are Amanda Brady, Andrew Bullock, Cassie Burfoot, Kieren Chester, Matthew Hawke, Peter Healey, Peter Leech and Emma Peters.
The firm was established in 1989 and currently has over 120 lawyers and staff across its two offices in Adelaide and Sydney.
In conversation with Lawyers Weekly, Cowell Clarke managing director Rob Comazzetto said that the firm’s vision is to continue to be a fully integrated national legal practice, “with a culture that is as similar as possible to what we currently enjoy”.
“Our practice has been a national practice for many years,” he noted.
“Whilst our headquarters will remain in Adelaide, we are planning on further expansion of our Sydney offering during the next year to meet client requirements and further enhance client service delivery.”
Mr Comazzetto added that the eight “experienced and dedicated” professionals had proven their ability to achieve the best outcomes for their clients while working on complex and challenging matters.
“These exceptional senior lawyers deliver prudent and pragmatic counsel time and time again with their valued expertise assisting hundreds of companies,” he proclaimed.
“Their promotions are in recognition of the significant contribution they make and their ability and willingness to take on elevated leadership responsibilities within the firm.
“We have full confidence that Cowell Clarke’s new associate directors will each continue to positively contribute to the development of the firm and our strategic plan.
“Their promotions to associate directors are well-deserved and a fantastic outcome for both the firm and our valued clients who benefit from their support.”
