Investors eye Cubic Mini Mix in 1st acquisition

Australian law firm Maddocks has advised a group of investors in the acquisition of concrete business Cubic Mini Mix.

Deal: A group of investors, including Corner Capital, have been advised on the acquisition of Cubic Mini Mix.

Key players: The Maddocks team was led by commercial partner Greg Hipwell, supported by special counsel Elizabeth Lilley and lawyer Olivia Smedley.

Deal significance: Cubic Mini Mix is a concrete business based in Geelong, Victoria. It has an 11-year history and supplies concrete and related products to Geelong and the Victorian Surf Coast.

Meanwhile, Corner Capital was founded in 2019 and is supported by a number of prominent Melbourne-based investors, according to a statement provided by Maddocks.

The group’s acquisition of Cubic Mini Mix represents its first.

Commenting on the transaction, Maddocks commercial partner Greg Hipwell said: “It was satisfying to act for all of the investors who came together as an experienced management team both operationally and financially to acquire and continue to grow a business based in regional Victoria.”
