Allens advises AUB Group on $880m acquisition

Allens, in association with its global alliance partner Linklaters, has advised AUB Group on an $880 million acquisition of Tysers, a UK insurance broker. Along with the acquisition, AUB proposed an associated $350 million entitlement offer to Tysers.

Key players: The Allens legal team was led by Vijay Cugati, partner-elect Adrian Amer, senior associate Addison Ma, associates Amina Karcic and William Brown and lawyer Rachael Short.

Deal significance: This deal signifies an important milestone for AUB’s expansion into the Lloyd’s and London market.

In connection with the transaction, the Allens team also assisted with the establishment of a new $675 million multi-currency debt facility.

Lead partner Vijay Cugati (who led the legal team) congratulated AUB on their “milestone” acquisition as they embarked into the London and Lloyd’s market.

Partner-elect Adrian Amer added: “We were pleased to be able to work alongside our alliance firm, Linklaters, to seamlessly advise across jurisdictions on all aspects of this significant deal.”
