The news follows that of fellow BigLaw firm Lander & Rogers, which last week elevated 49 to more senior roles, including seven new partners.

The promotions are effective as of 1 July 2022.

Speaking about the promotions round, Moray & Agnew national managing partner Geoff Connellan (pictured) congratulated each of the professionals on their “well-deserved” elevations.

“We acknowledge and thank them for their hard work and dedication to the firm and our clients.

“It is particularly gratifying to be able to promote from within while giving our clients access to such strong legal talent,” he said.

The new partners are Derek Collins and Beth Russell (insurance, Melbourne), Devinda Jayatilake (employment, Melbourne) and Louise Hogg (employment, Brisbane).

The new special counsel are Sarah Hammond (construction, Newcastle), Margarita Ntostas (insurance, Melbourne), Jessica Pendlebury and Maja Visic (insurance, Brisbane), Joshua Szwarcbard (property, Melbourne), and Danielle Sweeney, Helene Tretheway and Joan Williams (insurance, Newcastle).

And the new senior associates are Tessa Board (insurance, Sydney), Lucinda Cook (employment, Melbourne) and Isabella Rebellato (commercial litigation, Newcastle).

The firm has over 600 staff, including 100 partners, across its offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Newcastle and Perth.
