Ashurst adds new governance advisory partner
Ashurst has bolstered its legal governance advisory practice with the addition of a new partner, who joins from King & Wood Mallesons.
The new partner at the global firm, Miriam Kleiner, brings over 15 years of experience with her and will join Ashurst’s head office strategic advisory practice led by partner Rob Hanley.
Head of legal governance advisory Rob Hanley said that this appointment reflects Ashurst’s commitment to assisting clients with their ever-increasing governance needs.
“We are very excited to welcome Miriam to Ashurst. Miriam is one of only a handful of truly specialist governance lawyers in Australia,” he said.
“With her extensive experience providing head office advisory and company secretarial advice to ASX listed companies and large non-listed entities, Miriam will add enormously to the expertise and execution capabilities of the legal governance advisory team.”
The Ashurst legal governance advisory team works alongside Ashurst’s risk advisory and board advisory consultants to deliver a unique integrated legal and consulting offering.
Jamie Ng, global head of Ashurst’s consulting business, added that he was “thrilled” to have Ms Kleiner join.
“Miriam’s passion for governance and strong technical expertise in this area will add considerable depth to the existing team for the benefit of Ashurst’s clients in Australia and globally,” he said.
“Miriam’s arrival is the latest step in the development of Ashurst’s global governance advisory practice with corporate governance specialists, Will Chalk in London and Florian Drinhausen in Germany, joining Ashurst last year.”
Commenting on her new position, Ms Kleiner said: “I am delighted to join Ashurst and the legal governance advisory team. I am particularly excited by the opportunity to work alongside Ashurst’s risk advisory and board advisory consultants to offer clients an integrated legal and consulting offering in the corporate governance space. This is a unique offering in the Australian market.”
