Elizabeth Langdon joins the Proximity team in Victoria, after having worked both in Australia and abroad, with experience spanning the public and private sectors.

“I have been fortunate to work on some big projects in Victoria and I wanted to continue to do more of that work, but from a different vantage point,” she said.

“Proximity appealed to me as the firm works at the forefront of nation-changing projects, from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System, to Proximity’s role in delivering large scale defence projects – I felt I could add real value and contribute here.”

Previous roles for Ms Langdon include deputy secretary at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC), chief executive of the Royal Commission into the Casino Operator and Licence, deputy commissioner of the Victorian Public Sector Commission, and Victorian Public Sector commissioner. Prior to her Proximity appointment, Ms Langdon was the Victorian Health complaints commissioner.

Proximity’s co-CEO, Mike Watson, said: “The Proximity team is excited to be bringing on board someone with Elizabeth’s vast experience and hugely impressive track record across so much of the public service.

“Elizabeth has a great reputation for problem solving and leading policy and operational teams. Given her expertise in leading change and reform agendas, Elizabeth will take on an active role in helping our Victorian government clients with change management, organisational planning, and transformation.”

Further explaining why she has chosen to work with Proximity, Ms Langdon stated: In considering my next career step, I also looked for a private sector company with a positive culture focused on people. Proximity, I believe, is a good fit for me.”

She continued: “I am really looking forward to working with my new colleagues, in particular principal advisor, James Lavery, who is the client lead for the Victorian government.”
