Deal: The procurement of stage 3 of the Gold Coast Light Rail (GCLR) project, which reached financial close on 30 March 2022, has been undertaken. Stage 3 is a 6.7-kilometre extension of the existing passenger light rail system, linking Helensvale to Burleigh Heads, set to be operational in 2025.

Area: Projects

Value: $1.2 billion

Key players: The Corrs team was led by partner Melanie Bond and consultant Peter Schenk, who were supported by special counsel John Broadhead, senior associate Twina Au Yeung and experts across the firm, including partners Daryl Clifford, Airlie Fox, Paul Brickley, Felicity Saxon, Anna White and Nick Le Mare.

Deal significance: Speaking about the transactions, Ms Bond said: “As a firm, we are very proud to have supported the Queensland government on the GCLR project.
