Market research firm Momentum Intelligence has released the next rendition of its federal election poll for lawyers to better understand the perceptions, opinions and priorities of legal professionals leading up to the vote on 21 May 2022.

The results of this survey will be used to generate a special edition of the Industry Insight Report, which seeks to amplify your voice to the media, policymakers and the wider public.

The newly launched poll follows the outcomes of the last federal election survey run for Australia’s legal profession, in which lawyers indicated (as of the time of the conducting of that survey) they are overwhelmingly planning to vote for Anthony Albanese over Scott Morrison, with varied reasons as to why.

Momentum Intelligence head of strategy Michael Johnson commented: “This poll is an opportunity to explore industry-specific issues and insights as a vehicle to bring these issues to light ahead of the election.

“It’s an opportunity for this industry to voice what is important to them at a professional and personal level so that their ideas can be amplified and heard by those in Canberra.”

The poll is open to all legal professionals and takes five minutes to complete.

To participate in the poll, click here.

As a thank-you for your time, Momentum Intelligence will give away a $500 gift voucher to one randomly selected participant who wishes to enter the prize draw.

Your response is anonymous, and the winner of the voucher will be revealed after the poll closes at 5pm on Friday, 15 April.

If you have any questions, please contact Momentum Intelligence via email.

The last poll done on Australia’s legal profession also revealed that lawyers – relative to other professional strands – are uniquely concerned about the environment and climate change, sexual harassment and related misconduct, among myriad other issues that will influence their votes in the May election.

Lawyers Weekly has also recently published podcast episodes with parliamentary candidates with legal backgrounds, who are running for parties or movements across the political spectrum. You can check out those episodes below:
