Bringing over 20 years of experience to her new role, Kate Hay will be based in the KWM Melbourne office, officially joining the partnership last week.

Ms Hay has extensive experience working in multi-jurisdictional patent, copyright and trademark litigation, and consumer protection litigation.

KWM’s managing partner for dispute resolution Matthew Swinn said the move would further strengthen the firm’s IP practice.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Kate join us. Kate is a highly regarded expert within the IP field and her arrival will only strengthen our already strong IP practice at KWM,” he said.

Further commenting on the appointment, KWM’s chief executive partner Renae Lattey added: “Alongside Kate’s technical expertise, Kate’s very strong approach to clients and people is a really good match for KWM. We have very much been looking forward to Kate’s arrival. The addition of her practice will further embed our IP practice across Australia, and Asia.”
