Based in Victoria, new hire Stuart Gibson will support the commercial team in IP disputes, defamation matters and other issues that are “not for the faint of heart”.

In the past, Mr Gibson has advised many of Australia’s leading retail brands, including Brett Blundy Retail Group and global brands Lovisa, Honey Birdette, Bassike, and State of Escape Accessories. The firm said that he is “passionate” about his practice and has worked with high-profile individuals and businesses.

Macpherson Kelley’s national managing principal lawyer Grant Guenther said: “Stuart is unafraid to call a spade a spade and this resonates with our firms’ value of talking straight and providing no-nonsense advice.

“Stuart’s ability to fiercely advocate for his clients will be an incredible asset to individuals and businesses looking to put safeguards in place to protect their reputation and brand.”

Commenting on his new position, Mr Gibson said: “My approach to each matter is different from the next and I am unafraid to seek out creative solutions to get the best results. Macpherson Kelley’s reputation for putting clients first resonates for this bespoke approach to law.”
