JWS adds TMT partner from Corrs
National law firm Johnson Winter & Slattery has bolstered its technology, media and telecommunications practice with the hiring of a new partner for its Brisbane office.
Helen Clarke (pictured) has joined JWS from fellow national firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth, where she served for nearly 23 years – almost 11 of which as a partner. Most recently, she was partner-in-charge of Corrs’ Brisbane office.
She acts for major private sector and government clients across the health, financial services, telecommunications, education and energy and resources industries and has a strong focus on digital transformation, technology procurement, data privacy, cyber security and technology-driven transactions.
JWS managing partner Jeremy Davis said that he is “delighted” to welcome Ms Clarke to the firm.
“Australia’s technology sector is booming. Our firm has a very strong reputation in this area, with a particular focus on major technology projects and large tech M&A,” he proclaimed.
“Helen is an extremely well-regarded TMT lawyer. Having her on board will deepen our expertise and support the continued growth of our team.”
This appointment follows a string of lateral hires as the firm looks to build out its leading TMT practice. JWS remains focused, it noted, on continuing this growth trajectory.
“As a firm, we remain acutely focused on growing our capabilities in key areas to meet the growing demand from our clients,” Mr Davis concluded.
