Gamuda Australia secures Sydney Metro West project

Thomson Geer has advised Gamuda Australia on its successful bid with consortium partner Laing O’Rourke for a $2.16 billion contract to deliver a major tunnels and civils package for the Sydney Metro West project.

Deal: Gamuda Australia, together with Laing O’Rourke, has secured a $2.16 billion contract to deliver a major tunnels and civils package for the Sydney Metro West project.

Value: $2.16 billion

Key players: The Thomson Geer team was led by partner Franco Aversa, who was supported by Geoff Wood, Helen Jin, Catherine Gu, Josh Marchant and India Mauritzen.

Deal significance: In a statement, the firm said that Sydney Metro West is a “once-in-a-century infrastructure investment” by the NSW government that will transform Sydney for generations to come.

Speaking about the deal, Mr Aversa said that it was “great” to have supported Gamuda Australia on such a transformative Australian infrastructure project.

“We’re pleased to have been able to support Gamuda Australia in winning the right to deliver such an important piece of infrastructure that will benefit Sydney residents,” he said.
