Sparke Helmore elects new managing partner
National law firm Sparke Helmore has appointed a new managing partner, who has been with the firm for over 20 years.
Effective 1 March 2022, Andrew White has been elected as the newest national managing partner for Sparke Helmore after serving as chair of the firm’s board from 2018 until February this year.
Mr White also co-founded the Upper Hunter Education Fund in 2008, which has provided more than $1 million in financial and academic support to young people in the Hunter who are seeking tertiary education and might not otherwise have access to it. He is also a member of the Ronald McDonald House Northern Board and other private board positions – and said that he was “honoured to take on this role”.
“As we are hopefully emerging from the most troublesome business effects of COVID, I am optimistic and excited to continue to develop Sparke Helmore’s position as a market-leading Australian national law firm. With a wholehearted commitment to an inclusive culture and over 140 years behind us, we are focussed on remaining truly personable and expert advisers to, and partners of, our clients,” he said.
Sparke Helmore’s chair Roland Hassall said the firm and board were thrilled with the new appointment.
“I’m really excited about Andrew’s appointment. We’ve worked together for 20 years, both at Sparke Helmore and when he was a client of the firm as in-house counsel. He was an exacting and thought-provoking client and I look forward to working closely with him, having experienced those qualities and his approach to challenges.”
