Following seven years with Westpac Institutional Bank, Amela McPherson has returned to MinterEllison as a partner in its finance solutions team.

Based in Sydney, Ms McPherson has 15 years of experience in finance across BigLaw firms and major financial institutions. This includes in corporate lending, leveraged funding and corporate finance, alongside project and real estate finance.

Commenting on the appointment, finance solutions group leader and partner James Mok said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Amela back as partner.

“With her deep experience across a spectrum of financing transactions and markets, she will play an important part in furthering growing and developing our team and our relationships with clients.”

Ms McPherson said one of her favourite things about deal work is the “opportunity to collaborate with lots of stakeholders” towards a shared goal.

“It’s the give and take to reach common ground that drives me,” Ms McPherson said. “I’m thrilled to be back at MinterEllison, where I first got the taste for working in a truly collaborative environment with a high performance culture.”
