Piper Alderman has promoted Emily Haar (pictured) – who started with the firm as a law clerk in 2012 and has emerged as an important member of the firm’s employment relations team in Adelaide – to partner.

Speaking about the firm’s newest partner, Piper Alderman managing partner Tony Britten-Jones said: “Emily has been a valued member of the national employment relations team for almost ten years and it has been a pleasure to see her progress her career within the firm.

“We are delighted to welcome Emily to the partnership and congratulate our new senior associates and associates on their well-deserved promotions.”

The promotion follows nine partner appointments made by the firm in 2021, including lateral hires Lis Boyce, Joel Shaw, Joe Murphy, Richard Abbott, Karyn Reardon, Shane Entriken and Paul Sartori, and mid-year promotions Carlyna Chhen and Jonathan Dodd.

Mr Britten-Jones remarked: “As a firm, we are striving to provide sufficient career progression momentum for young, ambitious lawyers, with more alternative career options presented to those lawyers.”

“That is one of the main reasons we have pursued a growth agenda, both in terms of geography, partners and other staff, with significant increases in recent years. We work hard at creating an environment where individuals can flourish,” he said.

Elsewhere, the firm’s newest senior associates are Lauren Baker, Sally Fetouh, Liam Higgins, Andrew Jonklaas and Konnie Lontos.

The firm’s newest associates are Penny Carter, Jesse Dwyer, Gareth Gillespie, Ella Price and Oliver Radan.
