New Maritime Law Association president appointed
A Sparke Helmore partner has been named the new president of the Maritime Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (MLAANZ) following World Maritime Day.
Sparke Helmore has congratulated partner Michelle Taylor on her new appointment, which the national law firm said acts as a true recognition of her standing in, and dedication to, the maritime legal community.
MLAANZ engages with new legislative initiatives in Australia and New Zealand, works with Comité Maritime International (CMI) to facilitate the unification and harmonisation of maritime international laws and consults on admiralty rules and practice.
Following her appointment, Ms Taylor said she was “delighted and deeply honoured to be appointed president of MLAANZ”.
“I am looking forward to working with the wonderful board of MLAANZ, as well as the dedicated MLAANZ members to support the Australian and New Zealand maritime legal community.”
