McCabe Curwood rebrands as McCabes
National law firm McCabe Curwood is changing its name to McCabes, and is also set to launch a new government division.
On Friday 3 September, staff at McCabe Curwood were informed by managing principal Andrew Lacey that the firm is rebranding to McCabes. The new name will be effective as of Monday 6 September.
Speaking about the rebrand, Mr Lacey (who is also the head of the firm’s commercial litigation team) said: “Our strategy in our first three years [since the 2018 merger between McCabes Lawyers and Curwoods Lawyers] has been to bring together and develop our expertise across both the commercial and insurance markets, whilst growing our specialised government offering, and it is with pride we can say we have been successful in doing so.
“At the same time as announcing our government division, which recognises the fantastic growth in those practices, I would also like to announce our rebrand to ‘McCabes’.”
McCabes is an “ambitious and growing law firm”, Mr Lacey continued, which holds its values – integrity, excellence and courage – at the core of what it does.
“The last three years have seen us grow a national footprint, develop a new division, but we have not lost that McCabes difference – we have great clients and a firm of lawyers who love what they do,” he proclaimed.
“The next stage for our firm is to continue to bolster our commercial offer. We have the size, strength and expertise to service our client's commercial needs, and we know from the feedback that the experience and expert advice we provide as a firm is of excellent quality.”
The firm’s name comes from its founding principal, Terry McCabe, who launched the firm in 1991 and currently serves as its head of private clients.
McCabes has two offices in Sydney as well as offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Canberra.
