Halo Group – the holding company for Hamilton Locke, The Fold Legal and Source – announced the launch of the new Brisbane office late last week, with the three businesses to co-locate at the Riverside Centre in Brisbane CBD.

As part of the launch of this new office, Hamilton Locke has hired Peter Williams and Mark Schneider to be the foundation partners in Brisbane. Mr Williams joins from McCullough Robertson while Mr Schneider joins from Norton Rose Fulbright.

The new office follows last month’s acquisition of The Fold Legal.

Halo Group chairman Nick Humphrey, who also serves as managing partner of Hamilton Locke, said that the holding company is delighted to launch its Brisbane office, which he said would further expand its service offering across Australia.

As the legal and professional services landscape continues to thrive, we are thrilled to be able to offer our services to clients in the Brisbane and broader Queensland market,” he said.

This announcement comes as Halo Group recently announced its intention to list on the stock exchange.

Halo Group now has 131 staff members across its existing businesses. It also owns Emerson CoSec and MacMillan Trademarks.

In March, Lawyers Weekly spoke with Mr Humphrey about why Hamilton Locke plans to list on the ASX.
