HSF promotes 55
Global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has announced the promotion of 55 staff, including two executive counsel and 53 senior associates, across the country.
Herbert Smith Freehills has elevated 55 staff, following the promotion of six Australian lawyers to the firm’s global partnership, as well as another eight Australian lawyers to counsel roles, in May 2021.
Herbert Smith Freehills’ Australian executive partner, Andrew Pike, said of the promotions: “Congratulations to our new executive counsel and senior associates. They each possess excellent client relationship and leadership skills and I am confident that they will continue to deliver great results for our clients and the firm. I wish them well in this next stage of their careers.”
The firm’s newest executive counsel are Rachel Dawson and Olga Klimczak, who both work in the HSF Perth office.

The news follows Maddocks promoting 47, Wotton + Kearney elevating 34 lawyers as part of their biggest senior promotions round in history, national firm Holding Redlich elevating 45 lawyers across the country, global firms KWM and Allens promoting 63 staff and 24 staff respectively, McCullough Robertson elevating 16 to new positions, Moray & Agnew promoting 25 to new roles, Hall & Wilcox promoting 36 to senior roles, Dentons promoting 14 to new positions, and King & Wood Mallesons adding 10 to the partnership ranks.
