A global law firm has elevated eight lawyers to executive counsel or special counsel roles, as part of its annual global counsel promotion round.
Herbert Smith Freehills has promoted eight lawyers to counsel level, with six of the eight promoted lawyers assuming the title of executive counsel, while the other two will become special counsel.
Those promoted to executive counsel are Cecilia Mehl (corporate, Melbourne), Kate Meikle (disputes, Sydney), Adam Parkin (finance, Sydney), Amy Repse (finance, Melbourne), David Rowan (real estate, Perth) and Leah Watterson (disputes, Melbourne).
The two new special counsel are Catherine Pase (employment, industrial relations and safety, Melbourne) and Ellen Tarasenko (real estate, Melbourne).
Their appointments will take effect from 1 May 2021.
Speaking about the promotions, HSF executive partner Andrew Pike said that the recognition of these eight lawyers is a “testament to the high degree of talent within the firm in Australia and across our global network”.
“Our new counsel are experts in their fields, with specialised knowledge and exceptional client service skills. They are a great asset to Herbert Smith Freehills and our clients and I wish them all the best as they step into their new roles,” he proclaimed.
