Dye & Durham cements GlobalX acquisition

Global law firm Dentons has advised Dye & Durham on its multimillion-dollar acquisition of GlobalX.

Firms: Dentons (Dye & Durham); Maddocks (GlobalX).

Deal: GlobalX has been acquired by Dye & Durham.

Value: $170 million.

Area: M&A.

Key players: The legal team advising Dye & Durham was led by Dentons partners Hamish Walton and John Mollard in Australia and Ora Wexler in Canada. 

Deal significance: Dye & Durham Limited is described as a TSX-listed provider of cloud-based software and technology solutions designed to improve efficiency and increase productivity for legal and business professionals. Meanwhile, GlobalX is an Australian-headquartered technology company with operations across Australia and the UK.

Dentons advised on the due diligence and share purchase agreement.

“The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal year, subject to required regulatory approvals,” a statement from Dentons confirmed.

Commenting further, lead partner Mr Walton said: “The transaction is another example of Dentons’ cross border M&A expertise, working for high profile clients on value accretive deals.

“Again we were able to provide the client with seamless 24/7 service via our Australian and Canadian offices on this time critical transaction.”
